Welcome to the Asia-Pacific Society

The Oxford University Asia-Pacific Society (OUAPS) was formed in 1999 and is the largest Asian society in Oxford with over 700 members. Its affiliates and worldwide network span across four continents and thousands of interested parties. The society aims to further an understanding of current issues related to the Asia-Pacific as well as an interest in the political, economic, social and cultural developments in this dynamic region of the world.

The society envisages to present an all-encompassing society which is focused on the Asia-Pacific but in an international context and a global outlook.

Welcome Back!

Spring greetings from the OU Asia-Pacific Society! We hope that you had a wonderful Easter break and are looking forward to another eventful term with OUAPS!

Speaker Event: Dr Sunny Kotecha

The Oxford University Asia Pacific Society and OxFizz will be co-hosting this event. It will be an invaluable opportunity to understand the way in which you subconsciously present yourself in an interview and the way that you are likely to be perceived because of it.

Dr. Kotecha is Managing Director of Silver Lining Coaching, a company that has worked with Microsoft, KPMG, HSBC and Vodaphone. Having taught Oxford undergraduates and worked in various leadership roles with young people, Sunny made the leap to training in the corporate world. Sunny has extensive experience in coaching and mentoring with organisations including the Windsor Fellowship - and she has previously worked for Goldman Sachs and The Times and she frequently appears on BBC radio. Sunny holds degrees in Experimental Psychology and Sociology from the University of Oxford. Her PhD thesis investigated aspirations and ambitions from a career choice perspective.
